In South Africa, run-of-mine from platinum, gold, chromite and manganese deposits is highly abrasive, with large and inconsistent feed sizes; if primary crushing jams or stops, everything downstream — secondary and tertiary crushing, screening, grinding — stalls with it. The tracked mobile jaw crushing plant is the core model of Vanguard's primary-crushing family, built for South African hard-rock mines, handling the primary crushing of run-of-mine from platinum, gold, chromite and manganese deposits. The deep-chamber jaw, fitted with manganese-steel jaw plates and a reinforced one-piece frame, offers a large feed opening and high reduction ratio, steadily biting abrasive gold vein, manganese run-of-mine and chromium-bearing platinum country rock, reducing large boulders to downstream-ready sizes in a single pass. The modular chassis swaps a jaw host (C96 / C106 / C116) within hours to match the feed size and capacity of different ores — the same chassis can run a lower-capacity gold-vein line or quickly mount a larger host for high-output manganese crushing.
Core Structure & Technical Highlights
Deep-chamber jaw with manganese-steel plates: large feed size and high reduction ratio; the plates resist wear and impact, markedly extending service life and cutting wear-part cost per ton against South Africa's highly abrasive ores. Reinforced one-piece frame: high rigidity and stable running, with no deformation or loosening under continuous heavy-duty hard-rock operation. Hydraulic closed-side adjustment with overload protection: auto-relieves on tramp iron or uneven feed, protecting the machine and cutting unplanned downtime. Independent diesel power pack: runs the whole plant on its own through Eskom load-shedding and at off-grid remote open pits, with no dependence on external electricity.
